A New Level of Innovation in Humidity Control
The Econex Pro is specifically designed to target dew point temperature utilising EC technology for energy conscious clientele.
Traditionally, air conditioning is controlled solely on temperature, however, our product is unique as it also focuses on moisture content in air - leading to precise cooling applications. The unit is equipped with mulitple refrigeration systems, BLDC inverter-driven compressors and EC permanent magnet fans.

Four inverter compressors offer superior control and efficient part load performance leading to significant reductions in annual running costs.
HUMIDITY CONTROL
Monitors indoor and outdoor humidity levels and makes its own decisions by adapting different modes.
BMS CONNECTIVITY
Modbus or BacNet TCP/IP connection allows you to monitor a wide range of operational parameters, view fault logs and even take control of the unit
Award Winning Product Innovation
The Econex R32 Inverter Air Cooled Package Units were recently awarded the 2022 Product Excellence Award at the ARBS Industry Awards in Melbourne. This Award category focuses on new technologies that demonstrate innovation and fitness of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Building Services sector.
The ARBS Industry Awards is a national collaborative effort by all major HVAC&R & building services associations to showcase excellence in the Australian Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and building services industry.
Globally Recognised Control Technology
Temperzone’s Econex Pro is built on the backbone of globally recognised, award winning control technology.
It's predecesor the OPA 2100 which utilises the same innovative space temperature and humidty control functionality won the 2020 AIRAH “Product of the Year” Award and a Highly Commended Award in the Thermal Comfort Innovation category at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2020.

Advanced System Control
Incorporated Adaptive technology ensures that Econex Pro is flexible, versatile and extremely user-friendly.
The control offers a unique approach based on an intuitive algorithm that adjusts compressor speeds as the room load changes.
This approach plays perfectly to part load efficiencies by drastically reducing the energy demand on the building and improving comfort conditions due to curbing out extreme high and low temperature fluctuations when a unit is running to meet the target setpoint.
Autonomous Modes of Comfort
The unit considers indoor and outdoor humidity levels and automatically makes decisions by adapting different modes. Econex Pro 7 modes of comfort are designed around the dewpoint levels across a psychrometric chart and are tailored to target precise comfort needs by only removing moisture or temperature within the comfort level limit. Autonomous comfort modes:
- Heating – Dehumidification
- Cooling – Reheat (Available with optional reheat coil fitted*)
- Cooling – High latent
- Heating – Standard
- Comfort Zone – Fan only
- Cooling – High Sensible
- Cooling – Standard
Lower Global Warming Potential
With a smaller refrigerant charge and a GWP of 675*, OPA Econex R32 refrigerant units result in a 78 - 81% reduction in overall GWP per kW of cooling or heating when compared to R410A systems (GWP 2088*).
High Seasonal Energy Efficiency
Compared to the previous units, OPA Econex Pro considerably increases efficiency (EER) as the ambient reduces.
Seasonal energy performance of Econex Pro is superior because;
- Units operate the majority of the time at part load
- Inverter compressors are more efficient at part load
- Variable speed fans are more efficient at part load
Extreme Weather Operation
Designed for the harshest conditions, these R32 packaged units are designed to operate in ambient temperatures from -10°C to 50°C to ensure you’re always comfortable, whatever the weather.
Durable Design
Econex Pro units are designed to be highly durable and suited to the harshest environmental conditions.
- Highly corrosion resistant epoxy coated coils to suit harsh climate conditions
- Marine grade pretreatment and polyester powder coated galvanised steel, inside and out
- Louvre Guards for added protection against severe weather, UV damage to coils & accidental contact
Inverter Compressor Systems
OPA Econex Pro, with independent refrigeration circuits featuring inverter compressors and EC plug fans, operates to maximise part-load efficiency.
Inverter compressors enable operation with extremely wide cooling and heating capacity ranges and substantially reduce energy input at part load operation.
- Soft starting, using much less power at start up.
- Matching capacity to load avoids temperature fluctuation and reduces energy input power

Variable EC Outdoor Fans and EC Plug Fans
Variable Outdoor EC Fans
- High design criteria to meet tough local ambient conditions
- Extended system operating envelope with fully modulating head pressure control
- Increased energy savings at part-load conditions with integrated speed control
- High fan reliability with soft starting and low air noise
- Quiet Mode for noise sensitive applications
EC Plug Fans
- Precisely adjust airflow to change in static pressure
BMS Connectivity
No matter how simple or complex the climate control requirements, Temperzone can offer a unit that can be integrated into the building air conditioning infrastructure. Simplified BMS integration with Modbus or BACnet Communication Protocol.
Economy Damper and Spill Air options
The advanced controller included as standard in the Econex Pro Series has a built-in function to control economiser dampers (external or factory fitted). A temperature and humidity sensor are fitted in both the return air spigot and the outdoor air inlet. Based on the measurements and current space conditions the controller decides which source to use to minimise power use.
Spill Air* is used for applications where outside air is introduced into a closed environment that has minimal outside air migration. The spill air control modulates relief pressure in the A/C’s return air chamber to prevent over pressurisation of the conditioned space. (*Available on OPA 1410 - OPA 2110 Econex products)
CO2 Sensing option
CO2 sensing is available as an option and the unit will open dampers to allow the flow of more outdoor air to create higher quality indoor air conditions when the ppm drop below a pre-set level. The unit has a prioritisation system to determine when to open or close the outdoor air and spill air dampers based on the outdoor and space conditions.
Reheat Coil option*
The Econex Pro Series has the option of in-built reheat coils for humidity control. This advanced reheat control is a fully integrated reheat system utilising a DX reheat coil and bi-polar modular reheat valves to provide artificial sensible heat, boosting moisture removal rates while maintaining high levels of comfort.
*Available on OPA 1410 - OPA 2110 Econex Pro products
Flexible Handing Configuration
Econex Pro offers flexible handing configurations available to suit the application. Multiple configurations for Side, Top, Downward and Horizontal supply air and return air openings are available. Refer to our technical documentation for available combinations.
