History

Temperzone began over 65 years ago as a family-oriented business and later evolved into a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative climate solutions. Starting in 1956 as Temperature Control Ltd, the company pioneered the production of heat transfer coils for manufacturing and industrial processing applications in New Zealand. Building on its success, the company grew its team, introduced new technologies and innovations, expanded its range of products and services, and positioned itself as an industry leader.
 

◽ 1956 - Company is founded by Eric Kendall

A young, single minded and gifted engineer, Mr Eric L. Kendall, pioneers the New Zealand production of heat transfer coils for manufacturing and industrial processing applications. The company, Temperature Control Ltd, was founded by Eric Kendall in Auckland, New Zealand.
 

◾ 1973 - Temperature Control Ltd changes its name to Temperzone.

The company changes its name to Temperzone Ltd. New style buildings create a new demand for advanced commercial air conditioning. The company is ideally positioned to service that need, designing  and building the sophisticated custom built air handling and air conditioning systems required.
 

◽ 1985 - Temperzone acquires Bradway Engineering

Temperzone acquires Bradway Engineering Pty Ltd, an Australian air conditioning manufacturer based in Blacktown, Sydney.
 

◾ 1988 - Temperzone enters the Asian HVAC market 

In 1988, Temperzone opened its first office in Hong Kong to serve the growing demand for Temperzone products in Asia.
 

◽ 1990's - Introduction of CAD/CAM technology

In the 1990s, Temperzone introduced sophisticated CAD/CAM technology, resulting in enormous productivity gains, reduced lead times, and improved customer service. 
 

◾ 1994 - Relocation of Head Office in Asia

Temperzone relocates its Asian Regional Head Office from Hong Kong to Singapore due to increasing business in South East Asia.
 

◽ 2000 - Bradway Engineering Name is retired

In 2000, Bradway Engineering Pty Ltd changed its name to Temperzone Australia Pty Ltd. Temperzone began to expand manufacturing facilities in Australia and New Zealand and invested heavily in new automated processing machinery.

 

◾ 2009 - Temperzone & Hitachi Cooling & Heating partnership

In October 2009, Temperzone and Hitachi formed an alliance which meant Temperzone became the exclusive distributor of Hitachi cooling and heating products. This alliance has resulted in one of the most comprehensive offerings of commercial and residential air conditioning products in the market.

 

◽ 2011 - Temperzone wins at the Auckland Business Awards

Temperzone wins the Excellence in Exporting Award at the Auckland Business Awards in 2011.

 

◾ 2011 - Temperzone wins at the New Zealand Export Awards

Temperzone wins the Auckland Export Award at the ExportNZ Export Awards.

 

◽ 2017 - Introduction of innovative Rooftop Packaged systems

The first R32 refrigerant Rooftop Packaged Unit was introduced to the market in 2017.

 

◾ 2019 - Temperzone acquires RCR Energy Products International

Temperzone acquires RCR Energy Products International. Temperzone continues to manufacture the clever air handling unit range.

 

◽ 2020 - Temperzone OPA2100 wins AIRAH Award

The Multi-Award Winning Temperzone OPA2100 Eco Ultra wins the AIRAH 2020 Product of the Year. The OPA 2100 Eco Ultra also received a highly commended award in the CIBSE Thermal Comfort Innovation category. In addition, it was a finalist in the ARBS (Air conditioning, Refrigeration Building Services) Product of the Year awards in Australia.
 

◾ 2021 - Temperzone OPA Econex wins ARBS 2022 Product Excellence Award

Temperzone OPA Econex with it's low GWP refrigerant and energy efficient operation wins the ARBS 2022 Product Excellence Award.
