Sydney Factory

As part of their continuing commitment to innovation, Temperzone has spent the past six-months investing heavily in their Sydney manufacturing facility.

Focusing on three key areas, the infrastructure upgrade has been designed to increase manufacturing capacity, improve product quality, and reduce lead times.

“It’s been a busy six-months,” confirms Temperzone’s Sydney factory manager Dave Clayton. “We’ve installed a new automatic bending machine, upgraded the powder coating line, and created a new two-story racking system to allow fast product access.”

Dave says the new automatic bending machine (which incorporates an automatic guillotine that does the work of three manual bending machines) can more rapidly accommodate 40% of the sheet metal used by Temperzone while offering more precision during bending procedures.

“It’s a high-tech piece of equipment with automatic tool changing to save time,” he explains. “It’s able to process more sheet metal faster and more effectively, which increases our production capacity while also controlling costs.”

“The paint line upgrade included the latest technology in powder coating application.

The new technology will improve the quality by ensuring a consistent finish with even coating. This will also increase our production capacity while ensuring a longer lasting paint finish on all our powder coated products.

The addition of the latest powder coating application technology, meantime, has revolutionised Temperzone’s paint application capabilities.

“The new technology will improve the quality by ensuring a consistent finish with even coating,” continues Dave. “This will also increase our production capacity while ensuring a longer-lasting paint finish on all our powder coated products.”

Not surprisingly, the resulting improvement in production capacity also created a need for a more effective storage solution.

“That led us to install a new two-story racking system that holds up to 72 package units at a time,” explains Dave. “As a result, we’re now able to deliver products on-demand and reduce lead times for our customers. It’s all part of our drive to improve the way we do business and to ensure we produce high-quality units that our customers can access as quickly.
